Killer in the Retroscape was written in 2018, two years before the COVID pandemic. By coincidence, the book starts with a pandemic, which led one reviewer to say, “… the extraordinary thing for me is how closely Perrin anticipated the effects of a pandemic on the population ... social distancing, lockdowns, masks, and all the other precautions people were forced to take in 2020 – 2021. He even predicted the scams and profiteering that have been so much a feature of our own pandemic.”
